A dream come true is finally in sight for ButtonsThoughts and B.

In 2010, I started a blog called Buttonsthoughts. I fell in love with my blogger family and cannot imagine my life without those supportive and special people I came to know through our blog posts.

Bloggers are a special group who share pieces of their lives.  The good, the bad and sometimes the ugly. I met a lot of farmers, non-farmers, photographers, writers and just all around creative special, people.

These bloggers were passionate about their lives and so kind and generous to those they let into their world.

Our times have certainly changed so much since 2010. We cannot go back. I, being a forever optimist, believe that there are sunny, happy days ahead.

Back when I was blogging for over ten years steady during some of the most difficult farming days of my life, bloggers and strangers were there for me. I so love that. I am very grateful for their friendships and loyalty.

There is not as much time to blog anymore but I have kept on writing. A childhood dream has finally come true. My book of short stories and photos from blog posts and newspaper columns will be published in May of 2022.

I am so grateful to Crossfield Publishing for taking a chance on my work. I do know my stories made people smile when times were tough in their lives. I also know their stories did the same for me.

We all need to relish in the simple things mixed with humour and that will get us all through this scary time.

Thank you to all who have always been there, Stay safe everyone and grab hold of those little things that make you smile. ❤️

Hugs from Buttons aka Grace Vanderzande.

  1. Dear Grace, how wonderful to see this post from you and congrats on publishing your 'first' book. I'll be watching for it to come out. I've been missing your posts as well as posts from others. We, me included, are just not posting like we used to. These past two years kind of took the wind out of our collective sails. I want to get back into posting as I do enjoying sharing life, flowers, crafting, etc. from Plum Cottage. May God bless and keep you and 'your Hero'. Have a lovely Christmas and a great 2022. Love, hugs and prayers, FlowerLady

  2. Your writing is a treat, Grace. It's very special that you're having the stories published. Congratulations!

  6. Dear Button, Your post, just ahead of my 70-some-odd birthday, is most encouraging in a confusticated and bebothered world. We who've witnessed crash & scatteration here (way-the-heck in the future) will welcome your strength and positive composure by buying your book next Spring. All best wishes to you.

  7. I'm so excited for you! Congratulations!

  8. Congratulations, Grace. You did it.
    Merry Christmas.
    Hugs, Julia

  9. Thank you everyone so much. I miss you all. I hope you are all staying safe and doing well. Take care and Merry Christmas. Blogging was a big important part of my life. Hugs B

  10. I am having trouble answering comments. I am afraid my blogging skills have eluded me. We are still farming and grateful to be healthy and able to do it. Your comments mean so much to me. Everyone of you that took the time to comment I do so appreciate it. I miss you all so much. Blogging was such an important part of my mental health back then. Hugs and love. B

  11. That is so exciting Grace. I'm off to Amazon
